MRS. WILSON L. RODDY

Mrs. Emma RODDY, 72, wife of Wilson L. RODDY, Menoher Blvd. died at 9:20 last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob PIPER, Hollsopple, R.D.2 where she had been visiting for the past 8 weeks. A daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Frederick FENDER, she was born March 16, 1873 in Cambria County. Mrs. RODDY was a member of The Grace Lutheran Church, Morrellville.

The deceased was married on July 14, 1895 by Rev. Alfred Shipman, then pastor of the First Lutheran Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are 4 children: Mrs. Nora EVANS, Tire Hill; Wilson J., Johnstown R.D.5; Mrs. Mabel PIPER, mentioned & Samuel, Johnstown, R.D.4. One daughter, Emma Grace, preceeded her in death. One grand child survives.

Mrs. RODDY was a sister of George FENDER, Pittsburgh; Joseph, Hollsopple, R.D.2 & Mrs. Lena SEIGH, Johnstown, R.D.5.

Friends are being received at the H.M.Picking & Sons mortuary where funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday by Rev. Robert Whisler, pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetary.

EVANS, Mrs. Nora (RODDY), 70, Tire Hill, died Nov.22, 1967 at Memorial Hospital. Born July 6, 1897 at Johnstown R.D.5 daughter of Wilson L. & Emma (FENDER) RODDY. Preceeded in death by parents & a sister,Grace RODDY. Survived by husband, Phillip E., retired schoolteacher; brothers W.J.RODDY, Johnstown R.D.5, Samuel Francis RODDY, Johnstown R.D.4 & a sister Mrs. Mabel HUTZEL, Hollsopple R.D.2. Was a member of the First EUB Church. Arrangements in charge of John Henderson & Co. Funeral Home are incomplete. Friends requested to omit flowers & make donations to the Cancer Society.

RODDY, Alfred Irwin, 89, New Florence RD1, died January 1, 1969 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. Born March 27, 1879, in Jenners, son of Jacob & Catherine (THOMAS) RODDY. Preceeded in death by son, Walter G. Survived by widow, former Tina KELLER, and these children: Albert Jay, Ligonier; Wilbert P., & Mrs. Walter (Jennie) CLARK both of Ligonier RD3; Mrs. Joseph (Jessie) FRITZ & Mrs. David (Irene) ANDERSON, both of New Florence RD1; Harry K., Akron, Ohio; & Mrs. Bernard (Grace) SHERRA, Seward; also 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Luther M., Pittsburgh. Farmer in Ligonier for many years. Formerly operated threshing machine business. Owned only cider press in valley. Minister of Congregational Church. Former Pastor at Waterford. At time of death, served Armagh Congregational Church. Family will receive freinds from 3 to 5pm & 7 to 9pm, Thursday & Friday at Sibel-Wolford Funeral Home Ligonier, where service will be held at 2pm Saturday, the Rev. Harry Felton. Interment Green Mountain Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Westmoreland County Chapter, American Cancer Society.
