HOLSOPPLE Called By Death Aged Paint Borough Resident Succumbs at Home Monday CHARLES FREMONT HOLSOPPLE, 82, a retired machinist for the Berwind-White Coal Mining Company, passed away at 6:30 o'clock Monday morning at his home,212 Jefferson Ave., Paint Borough. The deceased wor ked for the local coal firm for a number of years before his retirement in 1930. MR. HOLSOPPLE was born in Paint Township December 6, 1856, a son of ADAM and SALOME (LAPE) HOLSOPPLE. He married CATHERINE MINERVA SHAFFER September 8, 1882. The couple began housekeeping on Market St reet, Johnstown, where they resided at the time of the flood of 1889. They removed to Windber in 1903 and had lived there since that time. MR. HOLSOPPLE leaves his widow and these children: RALPH D., PHILIP E., and CLAIR S. HOLSOPPLE, and ESTHER, wife of JOHN HUNTER, and GLADYS, wife of JOHN REILLY, all of Windber; GUSSIE, wife of IRVI N FOUST of 214 Jefferson avenue, Paint Borough, and CHARLES BYRON, of Warren, O. Thirty-two grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. The deceased was a brother of MRS. EVE SPEIGLER, of J ohnstown. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Scalp level Lutheran Church, with interment in Berkley Cemetery, Johnstown. From: The Johnstown, PA. Tribune, June 28, 1939. GLADYS REILLY, Portage, R. D. 2. Also 33 grandch ildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Scalp Level. Services: 1:30 p. m. Thursday, Meek Funeral Home; 2 p. m. Mt. Zion Church, Rev. M. M. Smeal; burial, Berkl ey Cemetery. Friends received at funeral home after 4 p. m. (EST) Tuesday. From: Johnstown, Pa.
