Cyrus Lear drove mules on the Penna. Canal in the Packsaddle area. He resided there for a while, then bought a parcel of land in Robinson, PA. One lot was sold to his son, Frank Lear, and a home erected thereon, another was sold to his son, William Lear, and another sold to Ollie Brendlinger who erected a home. The balance of the plot containing his home was given to John Lear. After WWII, John Lear's son, John S. built a home on one lot. This home remains the property of John Lear's heirs.
Cyrus, after moving to Robinson, made his living by working for William Lear, who had become a masonry contractor, employing Frank, John, Henry Brendlinger, and Benjamin Lear on occasion.
